That’s a wrap for the California Conference for Women! The conference theme this year was ‘Passion. Purpose. Possibility.’ and it resonated with the select Corcept employees across functions who had the opportunity to attend.
Following the impressive keynote presentations and the thoughtful breakout sessions, they shared feelings of hope, motivation and enthusiasm.

Thanks Aleya Harris, CPCE for your insights and being an absolute force of nature and inspiring action at USC Women's Conference Virtual Mentorship & Networking Session tonight!
I had the honor to host a breakout session on one of my favorite topics - NetGiving - fostering meaningful connections and genuine relationships and offering resources, advice, or guidance without expecting immediate transactions in return. There was great vulnerability and generosity in the group.
What insights, resources, or words of wisdom can you share? Let's build a supportive community together!
- Tomorrow is my last day (involuntary) at work. How do I leave with grace and remark on the next chapter with success?
- I’ve been applying to internships and none have accepted me yet, any advice?
- I’m a recent grad, and I’m not feeling accomplished at all because despite earning my degree, I haven’t found work, and I’m not sure I’m clear on my career path.
- I’ve been trying to break into the entertainment industry and am hitting dead ends. I’m lacking a network to help.
- I’ve passed The Bar (lawyer) but am feeling lost- is this even the career I’m looking for?

As we navigate through our careers and personal journeys, we often encounter moments that challenge our resolve. This is why our theme, Purpose, Passion, and Power, resonate so deeply within our community. Even on the toughest days, it is our purpose that sustains us. It’s not just about what we do, but the spirit with which we do it. And yes, while power has been wielded against us, it is also ours to claim and channel towards creating positive change. As multifaceted women, we bring a spectrum of strengths and perspectives to the table. This webinar isn’t just a gathering; it’s a celebration of who we are and all that we’ve accomplished. It’s a call to arms for all women in public defense to stand tall, embrace their power, and continue the vital work of shaping a just world.

Each March, we celebrate National Women's History Month: a chance to recognize women's varied and often under-recognized accomplishments throughout history. DYK? Women comprise 70% of the healthcare workforce and 59% of medical, biomedical, and health sciences graduates, yet are the minority at leadership levels — holding only 25% of senior executive roles.
The Healthcare Council's Nominating & Governance Committee continues to build gender diversity on its board. We are honored and grateful to have six women leaders as trustees: Kathleen Chavanu Gorman, Kimberly Russo, Deneen Richmond, Natalie Williamson, Carin Bouharoun, MHSA, and Galina Madjaroff Reitz, PhD. In the DMV we are making progress but can do better. Currently, 17 out of our 70 member-organizations have women who are Presidents and/or CEOs of acute and allied healthcare facilities. That is about 25 % -- a number that is representative of the national average but should be much higher. #WomenLeadership#Healthcare#WomensHistoryMonth

In the past week, the eyes of the world have been focused on India, first she launched a rocket destined for the moon, but also where the actions of a few have cast a long and disturbing shadow. The violent atrocities committed against women have shaken us to our core and led the Prime Minister of India to declare that these acts have brought shame upon the nation. Imagine a Prime Minister saying that of his own nation. More should, more often, of their own, for the same reason - violence against women.
Yet in this darkness, it is essential that we draw strength from unity and solidarity, rather than disperse in despair.
When we talk about creating change, whether it's to combat climate change, to end gender violence, or to engineer a more equal and inclusive society, we must remember: Men play an indispensable role. This isn't a task solely for the women who have bravely stood at the forefront of these battles, but a call to action for every individual, regardless of gender, to rise and join this fight.
The world needs men and women working together to drive global change. We need to ensure that our fathers, brothers, sons, and friends understand their power and responsibility in fostering a safer, more equitable world. This isn't about replacing one form of dominance with another, but about creating a cooperative balance where we all thrive together.
Men are not just bystanders in the fight for equality and justice—they are our allies, our partners, and our equals. The world has already witnessed the boundless potential that is unleashed when we break down barriers and work together.
President Barack Obama once said, "Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek." So, to the men who stand beside us, who champion equality and fight against injustice, we thank you. And to those still finding their footing, we invite you to join us.
The challenges we face are not insurmountable. The burden of progress is not one that should be carried by half of us, but by us all. As we look ahead, let's remember that everyone has a role in shaping the society we want to see. And together, we can create a world that reflects our shared values of justice, equality, and respect for all.
But, I am also mindful with these words, as Margaret Thatcher said, "if you want something said, ask a man, if you want something done - ask a woman".
Baroness Sandy Verma thank you again for your support and to you Rupa Ganatra Popat and all the panelists and Aekta Mahajan Patel Param S. MBE and of course Jitesh Gadhia for asking me to Chair CHN from our founder Dhruv Patel OBE- this is snowballing.

Thanks to all of the organisers and hosts, the engaged audience who brought such great questions to us and my fellow panelists Priya Guha MBERubina Singh, M.Eng.Hetal Mehta.
So many great insights I’ve already seen shared on LinkedIn by the attendees.
Over half the audience that turned up were men which was really impressive given that usually female-focused events have predominantly female audiences and how key male allies are for driving lasting change.
As Women’s History Month comes to a close, I’m honored to share a very special Cannon Curve that spotlights some of the women pioneering the financial industry. I’m joined by Jennie Karrels Menzie Menzie, CEO and President of Cumberland Trust, Elizabeth Rodgers, President of Synovus Trust, Emily Dye, Trust Officer at Cumberland Trust, and Anne Douglass Williams, Relationship Manager at Synovus Trust.
The dynamic of this group of women is refreshing, and each brings their personal journeys, insights, and fresh perspectives, as well as their experiences, challenges, and the importance of mentorship to the conversation. I can’t wait for you to hear our conversation. https://lnkd.in/g7U_FYCt
